LAX and Boeing Field are Ship 102's next stops

The Spirit of Delta headed to Los Angeles on February 28 as part of its Farewell Tour. The aircraft conducted a circle flight with employees, customers and representatives from local Delta-sponsored charities, including Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, St. Joseph's Center for the Homeless, and Ability First for the Disabled.

Alan Marshall (120/LAX) said that Delta's employee-led project to purchase the plane in 1982 changed his career path. Marshall had been working for Western Airlines when he joined Delta, but was planning to leave and pursue a career as a police officer. The spirit and solidarity he witnessed at Delta during Project 767 changed his mind.

"Learning about Ship 102 helped me understand better what Delta was all about and I decided to stay," Marshall said.

The Spirit of Delta also landed at Boeing Field outside the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA. A circle flight was given to employees and families from the Make A Wish Foundation.
