Delta has been collecting its history since the 1950s. As early employees retired, the airline realized it was losing important corporate memories. Harriette Speer Parker of Delta’s public relations department founded the Delta Archives.
Since 1996, the Museum has professionally managed Delta’s archival records and the items gifted by donors to the Museum. Extensive holdings include:
- Records from airlines in Delta's family tree
- Flight schedules
- Airport and in-flight equipment
- Flight attendant uniforms
View and search artifacts housed at the Museum in our new Collections database. Launched in Fall 2016, we add items weekly to the online database from the thousands of artifacts at the Museum.
Thanks to a collaborative partnership with Delta, the Museum provides researchers access to selected corporate records in the Delta Archives. These records include Delta from crop-dusting to 1941, and records from airlines in Delta's Family Tree. For more information, contact the Archives staff.
Appointments are at the discretion of Delta and the Museum. For students, only master and doctoral candidates will be considered.
