Narrative:  Travel Air 4000 1928-1936

Although most of the planes in Delta's cropdusting fleet were either Huff Daland Dusters or Stearman aircraft, Delta also used three Travel Air 4000 planes for dusting from 1928-1936.

In 1928, C.E. Woolman and a group of local inventors, purchased the assets of the crop-dusting company, Huff Daland Dusters, based in Monroe, Louisiana, and founded Delta Air Service.

The bill of sale listed three Travel Air crop dusters by serial numbers:

  • MSN 154 (NR64E), described as "being reconstructed" in November 1928
  • MSN 501 (NR5395)
  • MSN 502 (NR5396)
