Do you ever wish our airplanes could talk? If so, come mix and mingle with Aircraft Ambassadors stationed throughout the Museum at this special event. Spend time inside the iconic Lockheed L-1011 TriStar fuselage, hear early aviation stories with the Stinson Reliant, walk through the legendary DC-3, and explore the impact the Boeing 767 had on Delta’s global growth. A Delta TechOps representative will also be on hand to connect our historic fleet to the aircraft flying today.
Special guests include:
• Art Arace, builder of the Museum’s replica Huff Daland Duster
• Diane Carvelli, who spearheaded Project 767 along with two fellow flight attendants
• Captain Tim Sullivan, retired Delta pilot who piloted the L-1011aircraft and whose father worked on the engineering and design of the aircraft
• Joel “Smiley” Freeland, longtime paint shop expert and Delta livery storyteller
• Paul Talbott, Delta history and aircraft expert
• More special guests to be announced soon
Ask questions, swap memories, and experience these aircraft through the voices of the people who helped build, fly, paint, restore, and preserve them.
Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or simply curious, Meet the Airplane offers a rare opportunity to connect with living history.
